It is not just software problem. I have not spoken or written Chinese for almost 35 years. My Chinese is getting very rusty.
I remembered that we had a war game in 1979 against 234th division at Lin Ko. Our infantry surrounded the divisional headquarters of our enemy. And their divisional commander had to be air-lifted to safety by a helicopter. I never saw it with my eyes, but my friends in infantry said it was true.
Divisional war games were fun. Every day you would sleep in the field, and eat three meals a day out of a metal box, delivered by the kitchen staff.
One day, the company company commander said that the other side was going to infiltrate our position. As a platoon leader, I assigned my men to different positions in the woods to be ready to capture the infiltrators, who never came. But the next day, the game was over as the enemy was declared to have lost the war game as the divisional commander, a two-star general, had been surrounded by our men.
We spent sometime at lin-ko, near Taipei. One of my trucks overturned, and several soldiers were hurt. I had to take them to the hospital in downtown Taipei, which gave me a chance to go home to say hello to my parents, who have long passed away.
Penghu was fun. I was on the verge of finishing my two year service. So, I spent the whole two to three months fishing and chasing skirts. The divisional commander never bothered me.
